It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and uncle, Hans Flemming Petersen, age 91, on Wednesday, May 15, 2019.  Flemming was born in Denmark on April 8, 1928. He immigrated to Canada in 1961 and settled in the Hussar-Cluny-Makepeace communities. Farming was Flemming’s passion and he cherished the comradery & friendship of his fellow Danes who settled in the same area. He enjoyed camping and nature, was athletically inclined playing and supporting his children’s athletic endeavors, dancing, and traveling to Cuba with family & friends. Flemming was always willing & able to lend a hand when asked, especially with the care and maintenance of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Hussar. Later in life, Flemming retired to Strathmore where he enjoyed his garden and spending time with his growing family.  He was a devoted family man and will always be remembered & survived by his wife of 56 years, Nellie; son Mark (Jane) Petersen, grandchildren Ben & Grace; daughter Heidi (Miles) Walton, brother & sister-In Law Jim & Margie Houghton and many nieces and nephews in Denmark & Canada.
